A Dying Dog Knocked On His Door: “He Begged Me For Help”

Dan Van Coppenolle lives in Bronsville, Texas. Like every evening, he was sitting on the couch watching TV when suddenly he heard a knock on the door. He was surprised because he didn’t expect anyone and didn’t invite anyone. He decided to check through the peephole to see what kind of guy was disturbing his peace. However, when he did so, he saw no one. For a moment he thought someone was making fun of him, but he opened the door anyway. What he saw blew him away. There was a dog in a terrible condition standing on the threshold. The man knew he had to help him.

The dog was in a terrible condition

Dan will remember the moment when the dog knocked on his door for a long time. The poor dog was extremely exhausted and dirty. The man had no idea how the animal ended up in his house, but he knew one thing that it needed his help.

The way he looked at him confirmed it. The eyes were sad, dim, powerless. So Dan took the dog home to feed and water him. He also thought that if he got lost, he would look for his guardians.

The man took action. He photographed the dog and published its photos on social media. He was shocked that people were sharing them so quickly – it was a good sign for him that the post would finally reach the dog’s owners.

There were over 600 shares and a large number of comments. Concerned Internet users even offered to donate money for the animal’s treatment. It was touching that they were not indifferent to the fate of the poor dog.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we could not find the dog’s guardians. Dan took the dog to the vet, who examined him and found that the animal was suffering from demodicosis. His treatment will be long and expensive.

It turned out that at that moment a woman offered to take care of the dog and was not discouraged by his illness. Dan was happy that the poor animal had a new and loving home where he would be happy. He was also happy that he opened his door that day… who knows what would have happened to the dog if he hadn’t done so.
