Meet Edgardo.
Life has not been easy for the sweet six-year-old pup who was found malnourished and suffering from multiple health issues. He was discovered at a gas station in Mexico by Riviera Rescue.
No one knows how long he has lived on the streets, but he is in desperate need of medical care. The rescue brought him to the clinic where he was examined by a veterinarian.
Edgardo tested positive for erlichia, heartworm, and ringworm. He also has an eye infection, needs dental work, and is missing fur due to mange.
He hasn’t let his poor health hinder his gentle nature. He loves to be around people and gets along with other dogs.
The road to recovery will be long and expensive, but his prognosis is good. The rescue reached out to Greater Good Charities’ Emergency Animal Medical fund to help cover his medical bills.
The fund was created to help dogs like Edgardo get the care they need and live a happier and healthier life. Thanks to your continued support, we are able to help animals in need of medical care and save lives.
Edgardo has been started on a healthy diet and is receiving medication to treat erlichia and ringworm and will eventually be treated for heartworm. He receives medicated baths to help his skin heal from mange and should make a full recovery in six months.
